After the death of his servant Moses, Yahweh spoke to Joshua, the son of Nun, saying that Moses was dead, and therefore Joshua must get up and go across the Jordan, he and all the Israelites, to the land that he was giving them.
Yahweh told Joshua that every place from the wilderness and the Lebanon, as far as the Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea towards the west, would be his border. No man would be able to stand against him all the days of his life. As he was with Moses, so he would be with Joshua, and he would not fail him, nor forsake him.
He told Joshua to be strong and of good courage, for Joshua should cause these people to inherit the land that he promised to their fathers to give to them. However, he must carry out everything in keeping with the law that Moses commanded. He must not turn from it, to the right hand or the left, so that he might deal wisely wherever he went. The book of the law should not depart out of his mouth; he must be audibly musing over it day and night, so that he would be watchful to carry out everything written in it, for then he would be prosperous and have great success.
Yahweh said, "Have I not commanded you?" Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for Yahweh your Elohim is with you wherever you go.
Now with Moses, Yahweh would often have some very long interactions, for example, when he would instruct him on every aspect of his 'laws'. Yahweh said he knew Moses face-to-face. In these meetings, Yahweh's Terminator-style robot body, with its highly sensitive sensors in the head, and its massive computing power and antigravity negative charge sphere in the torso, would personally visit Moses, and the true nature of this body would be cloaked by his orbs that formed a semi-biological avatar.
But it was said that after Moses, there was no prophet with whom Yahweh would engage face-to-face, as he had done with Moses. Yahweh's interactions with Joshua, for example, were generally much shorter and limited to a couple of paragraphs of orders. Sometimes Yahweh might do such communications in the form of a dream. But frequently he would send orbs to assemble into a semi-biological avatar.
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, telling them to pass through the army and prepare themselves provisions, for in three days they would go across the Jordan, in order to take possession of the land that Yahweh their Elohim was giving them.
And Joshua spoke to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, reminding them of their agreement, in which their wives, children and cattle would remain this side of the Jordan, but the men would cross the river in order to help the other Israelites take the land, and once they had taken possession the two-and-a-half tribes could return to their wives and children east of the Jordan.
And they agreed, saying that whoever rebelled against Joshua's commandments should be put to death.
And Joshua, son of Nun, sent from Acacia Grove two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go and view the land, and Jericho."
And they went, and came into the house of a prostitute named Rahab, and they lay down there.
Then it was reported to the king of Jericho that men from the Israelites had come there that night to search out the land.
And the king of Jericho sent word to Rahab, telling her to bring the men who had gone into her house, for they had come to search out the land.
And Rahab took the two men and hid them. Then she said that some men came to her, but she did not know where they were from. And she said that when it got dark, at the shutting of the gate, they went out, and if they pursued them quickly they would overtake them.
However, she had taken them up to the roof of the house and hidden them in stalks of flax that she had laid out. And the king's men went after them on the road to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as the pursuers had gone they shut the gate.
Before they laid down for the night she went up to them on the roof, and said that she knew Yahweh had given them the land, and the dread of them had fallen on her people, and all the inhabitants there were melting in fear because of them. They had heard about how Yahweh dried up the Red Sea for them as they came out of Egypt, and they had heard how they completely destroyed the two kings Sihon and Og.
And she asked them to swear by Yahweh that, since she had dealt with them in kindness, that they would also deal with her father's house in kindness, and save her father alive, and her mother, and her brothers and sisters, and all who belonged to them, and they would deliver them from death.
They agreed that it would be their life for hers, if she did not report them. And then when Yahweh had given them the land, they would deal with her in loving kindness and faithfulness.
And Rahab let them down through the window by a rope, for her house was on the city wall. And she told them to go to the hills in case the pursuers met them, and hide there for three days until the pursuers returned; then they could go on their way.
The men said to her, "We will not be bound by this oath you made us swear, unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window that you let us down through, and you have brought your father and mother and brothers and all your family into your house. If anyone goes out the door of your house into the street, his blood will be on his own head, and we will be innocent. But if a hand is laid on anyone with you in the house, his blood will be on our heads. And if you report our mission, we will be released from the oath you made us swear."
She agreed to the terms, and sent them away. And when they had gone, she tied the scarlet cord in the window.
So the spies went out to the hills and stayed for three days, until the pursuers had returned without finding them, having searched all along the road. Then the two men started back, came down from the hills and crossed the river. So they came to Joshua, son of Nun, and reported all that had happened to them.
"Yahweh has surely delivered all the land into our hands," they said to Joshua. "Indeed, all who dwell in the land are melting in fear of us."
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and they set out from Acacia Grove, and they came to the Jordan, he and all the Israelites, and they camped there before they crossed over.
And at the end of three days, the officers went through the camp, and commanded the people, saying that when they saw the Ark of the Covenant and the Levite priests carrying it, then they should set out from their place and follow after it. Yet they should follow from a distance of about two thousand cubits, i.e., 1km.
Then Joshua spoke to the people and told them to prepare themselves, for tomorrow Yahweh would perform wonders among them. And Joshua spoke to the priests, telling them to take up the Ark of the Covenant, and cross over ahead of the people. So they did as Joshua commanded.
And Yahweh said to Joshua, "This day I will begin to make you mighty in the eyes of all Israel, so that they might know that, as I was with Moses, I am with you. And you shall command the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant, saying, 'When you come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan'."
And Joshua told the Israelites to come and hear the words of Yahweh their Elohim.
Then Joshua said that by this they would know that Chay El was among them, and he would without fail drive out from before them the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites. Behold, the Ark of the Covenant would go ahead of them into the Jordan.
Joshua told them to choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. When the feet of the priests who carried the Ark of Yahweh rested in the waters of the Jordan, its waters would be cut off from those that came down from above, and they would stand in a heap."
And it happened that, when the people set out from their tents, to go across the Jordan, and the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant before the people, and as those carrying the Ark came to the Jordan and their feet dipped in the edge of the water, for the Jordan overflowed its banks during the barley harvest, the waters that came from upstream stood and rose in a heap at a distance from Adam, the city beside Zaretan. And the water flowing downstream towards the sea of the plain, the Salt Sea, was completely cut off.
So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. And the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had finished passing over the Jordan.
This was easier for Yahweh than the Red Sea crossing, since he didn't have to vaporize anywhere near as much water. The volume of water and the energy requirement for vaporizing was at least 60 times smaller. However, it was still more than 1015J, which meant he had to use his spacecraft rather than a drone.
The Ark's Assisted Carry mode with the painter beam would not work if going over water; the ground charge would be conducted away too quickly. Without any persisting Q_Ground, they just have Q_Ark at 8.66 milliCoulombs together with the Earth's natural electric field, which will only neutralize ~97g of the Ark's 688 kg mass. So Yahweh vaporized the initial section seconds before the Ark bearers arrived at the water.
Now the Israelites crossed over the Jordan when it was in flood, and at that point in the flood stage, it is reckoned to be more than 100ft wide and 10 feet deep. Let's be generous and say 40m wide (131ft) and 4m deep (13.1ft). And we'll supposed Yahweh vaporizes a section 4,000m long, so that if they are crossing at the midpoint they have 2,000m of dry land initially either side of them. First he targeted an area 40m x 40m, then rapidly panned along the 4,000m length.
Now taking the average gradient for a river of 2.6m/km, that corresponds to 5.2m over 2km, and given that the depth is only 4m they don't have to worry about the downstream water coming back up to them.
The initial volume of water vaporized is 4,000m x 40m x 4m = 640,000m3, which is 6.4x108kg. At 2,441.7kJ/kg to vaporize from 25°C, the energy required for this stage is 1.56x1015J.
The 4m wall of water upstream starts off at a distance of 2,000m from them, and the shallow wave speed of the initial waterfront travels at a velocity of:
C = (g . h)1/2 where g is the acceleration due to gravity of 9.8 m/s2, and h is the height of 4m. So C = 6.26m/s. Thus, the time taken to travel 1,000m to get halfway along to them would be 160s ~ 2.7 minutes.
The bulk of the water is moving at a slower rate, based on the Chezy coefficient or the Manning's n-value.
We suppose that the Israelites are 1,000m behind the Levites and the Ark. At a walking speed of 3mph, or 1.34m/s, the time to cross 40m is only 30 seconds. However, it takes another 746s (12.4 minutes) for the first Israelites who are 1,000m behind to reach the river bank, then we allow 1,200s (20 minutes) for the time between the first Israelites and the last Israelites, and so the total time needed for crossing is 1,976 seconds (~33 minutes).
So Yahweh vaporizes sections of water upstream at times of 160, 320, 480, 640, 800, 960, 1,120, 1,280, 1,440, 1,600, 1,760, and 1,920 seconds as the Israelites are crossing, thus this particular operation is carried out twelve times.
Over each 160 seconds, the shallow wave has advanced 1,000m. The leading edge is very shallow, whereas the other end of the section to be vaporized is the full height of 4m. The bulk of the water advances at a slower speed. So we suppose that the average depth of the section to be vaporized here is half the depth, i.e. 2m, which gives it a volume of 2m x 40m x 1,000m = 80,000m3 = mass of 8x107 kg, and the energy required to vaporize it is 8x107 kg x 2,441.7 kJ/kg = 1.95x1014J.
Thus, the total energy for all vaporization operations is 1.56x1015J + 12 x 1.95x1014J = 3.9x1015J.
The devil repeats some of his narrative at this point, claiming that after all of his minions had finished crossing the Jordan river, he told Joshua to choose the twelve men, one from each tribe, and to take twelve stones from the middle of the river where the priests were standing, and to lay them down where they were to spend the night. Well, the twelve men had already been chosen while they were all still on the east bank. But Yahweh always liked to have some symbolic spectacle associated with his 'magic', such as Moses striking the waters of the Nile with his staff, and Yahweh wanted to have some sort of memorial preserved, at least for several future generations to see.
Even if the twelve men had already crossed over with the rest, leaving only the Levites and the Ark standing in the middle as part of Yahweh's spectacle that it was supposedly the 'magic' of the Ark that took away the water, and then the twelve returned to gather the stones, this would only add a minute or so to the total time needed. So we have 1,976 + 60 seconds = 2,036 seconds, i.e., 116 seconds after the last vaporization at 1,920 seconds, and it takes 160 seconds for the shallow wave to advance halfway to them.
Even if Yahweh needed to do another vaporization, he only needs another 1.95x1014J, but without that, the shallow waterfront has advanced about halfway to the crossing point by the time the twelve men have gathered the stones and the Levites have crossed over to the west bank with them, and so under this scenario the timing is right for Yahweh's drama of the returning water as the Ark crosses and the Levites' feet are no longer planted in the river.
So the spectacle of the 'miracle' of the crossing served to make Joshua eminent in the sight of all the Israelites, and they revered Joshua as they had revered Moses. And Yahweh had achieved that with a 1km radius spacecraft that he'd won in a competition, along with the directed energy beam it was equipped with, and a small proportion of his remaining deuterium/helium3 fuel.
The people camped at Gilgal, in the eastern border of Jericho. And Joshua erected the twelve stones there at Gilgal. Then he spoke to the sons of Israel, saying that when their children in future generations came to ask their fathers what those stones were, they should be told of how Yahweh their Elohim had dried the waters of the Jordan so that the people could cross over, like he had parted the waters of the Red Sea so that they could cross over, and all the people of Earth might know that Yahweh's hand was mighty, and the Israelites would revere Yahweh their Elohim forever.
And when all the kings of the Amorites on the western side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites by the Sea, heard that Yahweh had dried the waters of the Jordan until the sons of Israel had crossed over, their hearts melted, and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the Israelites.
Now Yahweh wanted to consolidate his power over his little saboteurs, and so he commanded Joshua to make sharp knives, and to "circumcise" again the sons of Israel, a second time. Those who had been born in the wilderness had so far been spared this disgusting ritual.
And Joshua obeyed his master, and made himself sharp knives, and so the Israelites carried out Yahweh's revolting practice of genital mutilation, at the Hill of Foreskins, in the hope that it would somehow bring them luck. In fact, it would go on to make them the most despised group on Earth, who would be expelled from every place they ever tried to settle, because of all their crimes, atrocities and debauchery, resulting from their evil supremacist ideology and their physical inadequacies. A group so repulsive, that they would need to pass laws making it illegal to hate them.
The Israelites remained in their camp at Gilgal until they were healed. On the 14th day of the month they kept the Passover in the evening on the plains of Jericho. The next day they ate from the old grain of the land, unleavened cakes and roasted grain.
It was at this time that Yahweh stopped dropping the manna. Now the Israelites were no longer in the desert, and had just started to eat from the produce of the land of Canaan.
When Joshua was near Jericho, he saw a man standing facing him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went over and asked him if he was for the Israelites or for their adversaries. The man replied, "No, but I have come as commander of the army of Yahweh."
Joshua fell on his face to the ground and paid honor to him, and asked, "What does my Lord say to His servant?" The commander, one of Yahweh's robots or 'angels', told Joshua to loosen his shoe from his foot, for the ground on which he stood was holy. And Joshua obeyed.
Jericho was securely shut up because of the Israelites. And Yahweh said to Joshua that he had given Jericho and its king, its mighty men of valor, into his hand. He told Joshua to circle around the city, all the men of war, going around the city once. They must carry this out for six days. And seven priests must carry seven blasts of rams' horns in front of the Ark, and on the seventh day they must go around the city seven times, and the priests must blow the rams' horns. Then, when the people heard the sound of the rams' horns they must all shout with a loud voice, and the city walls would fall down flat, and the people could then charge straight into the city.
So Joshua, son of Nun, called the priests and said to them, "Take up the Ark of the Covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the Ark of Yahweh."
And Joshua said to the people, "Advance and march round the city, and let those of you who are armed march in front of the Ark of Yahweh."
Then when Joshua had spoken, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns advanced in front of the Ark, and they blew the rams' horns, and the Ark of the Covenant of Yahweh followed them. And the armed men marched ahead of the priests who blew the rams' horns, and the rearguard came after the Ark.
And Joshua ordered the people that they must not shout, and they must be silent until the day when he would order them to shout, and then they must shout. And the Ark of Yahweh circled the city once, and then they went back to the camp and stayed the night there.
The next morning Joshua rose early, and the priests took up the Ark of Yahweh. And seven priests carrying seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the Ark went on, continually blasting the rams' horns, and the armed men went ahead of them, while the rearguard followed after the Ark.
On the second day they circled round the city once, as previously, then went back to the camp. And they repeated this for six days.
On the seventh day they rose early at dawn, and circled around the city in the same way, but this time they circled around the city seven times.
And when they circled around the city the seventh time, as the priests blew the rams' horns, Joshua said to the people, "Shout, for Yahweh has given you the city. And the city and all who are in it will be doomed to destruction by Yahweh. Only the prostitute Rahab shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, for she hid the messengers whom we sent. And keep yourselves clear from any devoted thing, in case you become cursed by taking from the devoted things, or you make the camp of Israel become cursed. All the silver and gold, and containers of bronze and iron, are set apart, and must go into the treasury of Yahweh."
So as they heard the rams' horns the people shouted with a loud shout, and the wall collapsed underneath itself. The people went up into the city, and they took the city, and destroyed man and woman, young and old, and ox, sheep and donkey, with the edge of the sword.
Now Yahweh had used his more powerful directed energy beam in his spacecraft to "cut off" the water in the Jordan so that they could cross the river, as he had done for the Dead Sea crossing too. His DE weapon in the drone, which he had used to quell the Korah rebellion, could easily have destroyed enough of Jericho's wall to let the Israelites enter, and with careful focusing on selected points could have done great damage to the entire perimeter. But he wanted to create such a spectacle that Joshua would be revered and the city defenders totally demoralized, with some even physically injured, and decided he would leave nothing to chance.
The DE beam in his spacecraft was capable of a power output of around 1016W, and this could be sustained for a pulse of ten seconds, discharging a total of 1017J to the target. The upgraded deuterium/helium3 fusion-powered DE device in the drone was capable of a continuous power output of 1011 W, or more if pulsed over 5-10 seconds.
Take the height of the main stone retaining wall as 5m, the thickness as 2m, and the perimeter length as 600m, and so the volume is 6,000m3. We suppose it is limestone, with density of 2,500 kg/m3, and so the mass is 1.5x107kg. At ambient temperature the specific heat is ~840 J/kg°C, but this increases as it goes up to the decomposition temperature 900-1,000°C, so to be fair we'll assume 1,500 J/kg°C as an average.
The endothermic (requires energy input) decomposition reaction is:
CaCO3 =======>> CaO + CO2
The reactant (essentially calcium carbonate) has -1,207 kJ/mol as its heat of formation, and the products have -635 kJ/mol for the lime and -393.5 kJ/mol for the carbon dioxide. Thus, the products' total heat of formation is 178.5 kJ less negative than the reactant. With this being the energy required to decompose one mole (100.088g) of the reactant, the decomposition requirement is 1783 kJ/kg.
The increase in temperature from ambient to 950°C requires 1.5x107kg * (950-20) °C * 1,500 J/kg°C = 2.0925x1013 J.
The decomposition requires 1.5x107kg * 1783 kJ/kg = 2.675x1013 J.
Thus, the total is 47.675 TJ, or if we allow 50% efficiency, the total is 95.35 TJ, making the mothership's DE beam the clear choice.
Additionally, Yahweh directed infrasound from his parametric speakers into the city. This didn't have enough energy to demolish the walls or to turn people's internal organs into an amorphous jelly, and it couldn't be focused precisely because of the long wavelength. But for several hapless individuals, it was enough to burst blood vessels, and the sight of some bleeding from the nose or eyes further demoralized the defenders, just as they saw their supposedly impenetrable walls disappear, amidst the terrible din from the rams' horns, the shouting Israelites, and the strange noise of the infrasound, like a tiger's roar aimed at paralyzing its prey.
Yahweh directed the infrasound at the far side of the city, away from the prostitute Rahab who had helped Israel's spies.
And Joshua said to the two men who had spied out the country, "Go into the prostitute's house, and bring out from there the woman and everything she has, as you swore to her."
And the two young men who were spies went in and they brought Rahab out, and her father, her mother and her brothers, and everything she possessed, and all her relatives, and they left them outside the camp of Israel.
And they burned the city and everything in it with fire, only taking the silver and gold, and the containers of bronze and iron, which were put into the treasury of Yahweh.
Then Joshua issued a warning, saying, "Cursed be the man in the sight of Yahweh who rises up and builds this city of Jericho. He shall lay its foundation in his firstborn, and he shall set up its gates in his youngest son." So Yahweh was with Joshua, and his fame was all across the land.
But then one of the Israelites, Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, committed a treachery by taking some of the cursed things. And Yahweh's anger burned against the Israelites. Yahweh hated the idea of 'his' chosen people having any kind of rival to himself. And he was always happy to dish out collective punishment, however loyal - and necessarily stupid - the vast majority of the Israelites might have been. Loyalty was not one of Yahweh's attributes, yet the hypocrite demanded it from his servants.
Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which was beside Beth Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and he told them to go up and view the country. So the men went to spy on Ai, and then they returned to Joshua and told him, "Do not let all the people go up; about two or three thousand men will be sufficient to strike Ai. The people of Ai are few, so do not weary all our people."
So about 3,000 of the Israelites went up there, but they fled before the men of Ai. And the men of Ai struck about 36 of them, chasing them in front of the gate to Shebarim, and they struck them on the slopes, so that the hearts of the people melted and became like water.
And Joshua tore his clothes, and he fell down to the ground on his face in front of the Ark of Yahweh until evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they threw dust on their heads.
Joshua said, "Adonai Yahweh! Why have you at all brought this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? If only we had been content and lived on the other side of the Jordan. Adonai, what shall I say when Israel has turned its neck before its enemies? For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear, and they will surround us and cut off our name from the Earth. Then what will you do for your mighty name?"
And Yahweh said to Joshua, "Get yourself up. Why are you lying like that on your face? Israel has sinned, and they have transgressed my Covenant that I commanded them, and they have even taken some of the cursed things, and they have also stolen, and they have also dealt falsely, and they have put it among their own war gear, therefore the sons of Israel were not able to stand up to their enemies. They turned their backs before their enemies because they were cursed. Neither will I be with you any longer, unless you destroy the cursed things amongst you."
So much for the promises he'd made to the retarded Abram, Isaac and Jacob; Yahweh would ditch them in an instant if he felt like playing the spoiled brat.
Yahweh told Joshua to get himself up, prepare the people for the next day, and prepare to take away the cursed thing from amongst them. In the morning the people must be brought according to their tribes, and according to the families, and according to the households, and the household whom Yahweh takes shall come man by man. And he who was caught with the cursed thing would be burned with fire - he and everything he had, because he had transgressed the Covenant of Yahweh, and had committed a disgraceful thing in Israel.
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and brought Israel out by their tribes, and the tribe of Israel was taken. He brought forward the family of Judah, then he took the family of the Zerahites, and the household of Zabdi was taken. He brought forward his household man by man, and Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
Joshua told Achan to give glory to Yahweh Elohim of Israel, and give thanks to him, and to tell Joshua what he had done, and not to hide it.
Achan replied that he had indeed sinned against Yahweh, and he had seen among the plunder a beautiful Babylonian garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and one bar of gold of fifty shekels weight. Then he coveted them, and he took them, and there they were, hidden in the ground inside his tent, with the silver underneath.
So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and they found it, with the silver hidden underneath. And they took them out of the tent and brought them to Joshua, and to the Israelites, and laid them out before Yahweh.
And Joshua, and the Israelites, took Achan, son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, and his sons and his daughters, and his oxen, and his donkeys, and his sheep, and his tent, and everything he possessed, and they brought them to the Valley of Achor.
Joshua said, "Why have you troubled us? Yahweh will trouble you this day."
And Israel stoned him with stones, then they stoned the others with stones, and then burned their bodies. And they set a large pile of rocks over Achan. So Yahweh turned from the fierceness of his anger, and the place was known as the Valley of Achor.
Then Yahweh said to Joshua, "Do not fear, or be dismayed. Take all the men of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. For I have given into your hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land. You shall do to Ai and her king as you did to Jericho and her king. Only its plunder and its cattle you may take for yourselves. Lay an ambush for the city behind it."
So Joshua arose, and all the men of war, to go up against Ai, and Joshua chose 30,000 mighty men of valor. He sent some, probably 5,000 since the 30,000 would have a harder job remaining concealed, away by night and told them to set up an ambush behind the city. They had to lie in wait, not too far from the city, but all be ready, and Joshua and the people with him would approach the city, and when the defenders came out, at first Joshua and his forces would flee and draw out their opponents, and then the 5,000 must rise from the ambush and seize the city, for Yahweh would deliver it to them. And when they had taken the city they must set it on fire, as Yahweh commanded, and now Joshua had commanded them.
Joshua sent them out, and they went to lie in ambush, staying between Bethel and Ai, on the western side of Ai, but Joshua camped that night among the people. Then he rose early in the morning, and inspected the people, and he and the elders of Israel went up in front of the people to Ai.
All the men of war with Joshua went up and made their approach, and they came before the city and pitched camp on the north side of Ai, with a valley between them and Ai. When both parties had been posted, to the north and the west of Ai, Joshua went down into the middle of the valley.
And when the king of Ai saw, they hurried and rose early, and the men of the city went out to battle against Israel, but they did not know of the ambush behind the city. Then Joshua and the Israelites pretended they were beaten, and fled along the road of the wilderness. And all the people of Ai were called together to pursue them, and they pursued Joshua and were driven away from the city. Not a man was left in Ai or Bethel who did not go after Israel, and they left the city wide open as they pursued Israel.
Yahweh told Joshua to stretch out the spear in his hand towards Ai, for he would give it into his hand. And Joshua stretched out the spear in his hand towards the city.
As soon as Joshua stretched out his hand the ambush rose quickly and ran into the city and took it, and quickly set it on fire.
When the men of Ai looked behind them, they saw the smoke of the city ascending to the skies, and they had no power to escape in any direction. The Israelites who were fleeing to the wilderness turned back on the pursuing force when they saw the ambush had taken the city, and they began killing the men of Ai. Then the ambush party came out of the city, so that the men of Ai were trapped in the midst of Israel, and they struck the men of Ai until not one was left alive. But they took the king of Ai alive and brought him to Joshua.
And it came about, when Israel had finished slaughtering all the inhabitants of Ai - a gruesome activity, for which they would develop such a lust that they would be massacring women and children by the tens of thousands more than 3,400 years later, all who fell that day of Ai, both men and women, amounted to 12,000. Joshua did not draw back his hand that stretched out the spear until he had destroyed all inhabitants of Ai. Israel only took as booty the cattle and spoil of the city, as Yahweh had commanded. And Joshua burnt Ai until it was a heap and a desolation. This would be a foretaste of their appetite for destruction.
Joshua hanged the king of Ai on a tree until evening, and as soon as the Sun was down, he had his carcass taken down and thrown at the entrance of the city gate, and raised on it a large mound of stones.
Then Joshua built an altar on Mount Ebal to Yahweh, just as Moses had commanded the Israelites. It was an altar of uncut stones, over which no iron tool had been used, and on it they offered burnt offerings to Yahweh, and they sacrificed peace offerings.
And on the stones, Joshua wrote a duplicate of the law of Moses, in the presence of the Israelites. All Israel, their elders, and officers, and judges, and foreigners, stood on either side of the Ark in front of the priests, the Levites, who carried the Ark of the Covenant of Yahweh. Half of them were facing Mount Gerizim, and half were facing Mount Ebal, as Moses had commanded, to bless the people of Israel.
Afterwards Joshua read aloud the words of the law, the blessings and the curses, in keeping with everything written in the book of the law. Joshua read it all, before all the assembly of Israel, the women, the children, and the strangers who walked among them.
When all the kings on the west side of the Jordan, in the hills or the valleys, or on all the shores of the Great Sea facing Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite heard about what Joshua and the Israelites had done to Jericho and to Ai, they gathered together to join forces in fighting against Joshua and Israel.
And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and Ai, they also acted craftily, and posed as envoys, loading old sacks on their donkeys, and old wineskins, torn and mended, and old and parched shoes, and old garments, and with dry, crumbled bread among their provisions.
They went to Joshua in the camp of Gilgal, and told him that they had come from a far and distant land, and they wanted to make a treaty with them. And the Israelites said, "Perhaps you are living near us. So how can we make a treaty with you?"
They said to Joshua that they were his servants, and he asked them who they were and where they came from.
They said they had come from a very far country, and they had heard the report of everything Yahweh had done in Egypt, and everything to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon, king of Heshbon, and to Og, king of Bashan, at Ashtaroth. And so their elders and the other inhabitants spoke to them, asking them to take provisions for the journey and to meet the Israelites, and ask for a treaty as they were their servants. As 'evidence' they showed the crumbled bread, the torn wineskins, and the old garments and shoes.
The men sampled their provisions and did not ask for any guidance from Yahweh. And Joshua made peace with them, and solemnized a treaty with them to let them live, and the leaders of the assembly swore to them.
However, three days after they had made the treaty, they heard that the Gibeonites were their neighbors and were living among them. Then the Israelites traveled on and came to their cities on the third day. Their cities were Gibeon, Chepirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim. And the sons of Israel did not strike them, because the leaders of the assembly had sworn to them by Yahweh Elohim of Israel. But all the assembly murmured against the leaders.
And the leaders said to the assembly that they could not touch them because they had sworn to Yahweh, so they would let them live, in case anger was on them because of the oath they swore. The leaders also said, "Let them live. But let them become woodcutters and drawers of water for all the assembly, as the leaders had promised them.
Then Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, asking why they had beguiled them by saying they were from very far away when they were living very near. Therefore they were cursed, and they would not be freed from being slaves, and would always serve as woodcutters and water drawers for the house of Joshua's Elohim.
The Gibeonites replied that it was reported to them how Yahweh had commanded Moses to give Israel all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land before them. Therefore they were severely afraid for their lives because of the Israelites, and that is why they did it. So now they were in the Israelites' hands, and the Israelites should do whatever seemed good and right to them.
And Joshua did just that, and saved them out of the hands of the Israelites, so that they did not kill them. And that day Joshua made them woodcutters and drawers of water for Israel, and for the altar of Yahweh.
Even in the second millennium BC, the Israelites were already a major cancer and a plague on humanity, and unfortunately, it would remain that way for thousands of years. And worse, the tumor would grow to afflict the vast majority of the world, but with a special focus on the "Western" nations.
Psychopaths should not have an automatic right of access to normal people, parasites should not have a right to access a host, and perverts should not have access to innocent victims. When the bad guys are allowed to interact with the good guys, the good guys always lose, so it is absolutely crazy for them to tolerate or even support a regime under which they lose.
Then Adoni Zedek, king of Jerusalem, heard of how Joshua had captured Ai and completely destroyed it and its king, as he had done to Jericho and her king, and he heard of how the Gibeonites had made peace with Israel and were among them. And so they became greatly alarmed, because Gibeon was a large city, like one of the royal cities, and it was larger than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
So Adoni Zedek, king of Jerusalem, sent word to Hoham, king of Hebron, and to Piram, king of Jarmuth, and to Japhia, king of Lachish, and to Debir, king of Eglon, saying, "Come up and help us, so that we can strike Gibeon, because they have made peace with Joshua and the Israelites."
So the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, joined forces, and they went up with all their armies, and camped facing Gibeon, and made war against it.
Then the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: "Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us, and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites from the hill country have joined forces against us."
So Joshua and his entire army, including all the mighty men of valor, came up from Gilgal.
And Yahweh said to Joshua, "Do not fear them, for I have delivered them into your hand. Not one of them shall stand before you."
So Joshua caught them by surprise, after marching all night from Gilgal. And Yahweh routed them before Israel, and killed them in a terrible slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the road going up to Beth Horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. As they fled before Israel along the descent from Beth Horon to Azekah, Yahweh hurled down huge hailstones on them from the sky, and more of them were killed by the hailstones than by the swords of the Israelites.
Then Joshua spoke to Yahweh in the day when Yahweh delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
"O Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
O Moon, over the Valley of Aijalon."
And the Sun was seen to stay still, and the Moon stopped, and the Sun did not go down for a whole day. And this day was unique, when Yahweh responded to the voice of a man.
Now we'll suppose that each of the five kings had an army averaging 10,000 men, making 50,000 in total, so that Yahweh has to kill ~30,000 of them with his stones, so that more were killed by stones than by the sword. Some were killed at Gibeon in the "terrible slaughter"; Yahweh used his DE weapon for that, and also to strike others down at Azekah and Makkedah. Nevertheless, we'll stick to the figure of 30,000 killed by the stones.
Yahweh ruled out the idea of hailstones rather than stones because it was much less efficient. The lower density of ice would mean a larger volume and surface area for the same mass, and a lower terminal velocity due to air resistance, or alternatively a lower mass and kinetic energy (KE) per stone.
He was working on a 10% strike rate, and dropped 300,000 stones averaging 2 kg from an altitude of 1,000m, deploying 100 of his solar-powered drones. 30,000 struck their target, almost all fatally. Although 90% of them did little or no physical harm, they certainly inflicted terror and panic among the survivors, before Yahweh even began to operate his directed energy beam at low frequencies to modulate their brain waves.
Simulations computing the drag force, net force and acceleration at increments of 1μs show that a rough sphere (drag coefficient Cd = 0.47, and we take g = 9.81 m/s2) of mass 2 kg and density 2,500 kg/m3 dropped from an altitude of 1,000m achieves a velocity on impact at altitude 2m of 79.51 m/s. This is only a little below the terminal velocity of 81.71 m/s, if dropped from 10,000m, say. The time from release to impact is 17.87 seconds. The kinetic energy on impact is 6,322 J, which is more than the muzzle energy of hunting rifles, and nearly ten times the typical muzzle energy from the .357 Magnum handgun.
So each drone takes up and releases 3,000 two-kg stones, which is a 6 tonne payload, at 1,000m altitude. The gravitational potential is m.g.h = (53,000 + 6,000) kg x 9.8 N/kg x 1,000m = 578.2 MJ.
It turns out that given these drones' specifications of frontal cross-section A = 120m, wingspan b = 120m, and drag coefficient Cd = 0.7, and if they ascend 1m for every 5m horizontally, the work done in overcoming the total drag force along the diagonal flight path equals 0.4394 times the gravitational potential, assuming they fly at the optimal cruising speed. So the total energy needed is 1.4394 x 578.2 MJ = 832.3 MJ. That's a quick way of finding the total energy required for these drones to take various payloads up to various altitudes, and check that the 18.8 GJ stored in supercapacitors would be sufficient.
The formulas for finding the optimal cruising speed, induced drag and parasitic drag are in Genesis. But the induced drag equals the parasitic drag, which is 24,915N, and the diagonal flight path when ascending 1m for each 5m horizontally is 5.099 times the vertical. So the total drag force of 49,830N x 5.099 x 1,000m = work performed of 254.1 MJ, which added to the potential energy of 578.2 MJ is 832.3 MJ, and easily supplied by supercapacitors.
To boost the morale of the Israelites and enhance Joshua's standing, Yahweh conducted a typical Hellian sunlight-blocking operation to cover up the Sun, and project a holographic image of a 'Sun' where the Israelites would believe it to be.
The scheme aimed to block out up to 90% of the sunlight over a 10 km radius, casting a shadow over most, if not all, of the Israelites' campsite. In total, 90.4 kg of metamaterials were used, consisting of 7.2x1016 disk-shaped particles with a radius of 50 microns (5x10-5 m) and a thickness of 1 micron. Thus, the cross-sectional area of each disk was 7.85x10-9 m2 and the volume was 7.85x10-15 m3. The total area from all disks was therefore 5.65x108 m3, which is 180% of the 3.14x108 m2 total area of the target 10 km radius zone.
The additional factor of two was to allow for the fact that not all disks would be perfectly orientated and aligned horizontally such as to present the greatest cross-section above and below the cloud of disks.
The disks were made from a graphene aerogel with a density of 0.16 kg/m3, and so the mass of a single disk particle was 1.26x10-15 kg. Thus, the downward force Fgrav acting on a particle released into the atmosphere was ~1.23x10-14 N.
Yahweh had been fabricating the material in bulk with 3D printing, up in his mothership. Since neither he nor his robots were biological-based, most of the ship was a vacuum, apart from compartments such as the sound room, where they could test out parametric speakers, listen to music and recordings of sounds from typical planets. So there was no need to suck air out in a vacuum chamber; they were already down to the bulk density of the solid, and then each particle was encapsulated within a tiny impermeable monolayer skin.
9.04 kg of the particles were brought down from the mothership in each of the ten shuttle drones, and dispersed via spinning dispensers at an altitude of 25km, which has a typical windspeed of 5 m/s, lower than any other part of the stratosphere. At this altitude, the upward force Fdrag acting on a particle matched Fgrav of 1.23x10-14 N at the terminal velocity of 8.72x10-3 m/s. This can be calculated from: Fdrag = ½ x ρ x v2 x Cd x A
...where ρ is the air density of 0.0358 kg/m3 at 25 km altitude, v is the downward velocity (m/s), Cd is the drag coefficient which we take as 1.15 for a disk or plate, and A is the cross-sectional area of 7.85x10-9 m2.
And so over 3 hours the total descent is only 94 meters, a tiny fraction of the 25 km altitude. Now if the cross-section was taken as a smaller area, since some of the time the disk is aligned to the vertical and presents a smaller cross-section when seen from below, this would predict a somewhat greater terminal velocity and descent, but the total drop is still very small in relation to the altitude.
However, experiments show that the disks would descend in a random series of swoops and glides, sometimes going almost horizontally. And so, taking the full cross-section is more than fair.
The total volume of the blocking material was 565 cubic meters, and so each drone needed to carry 56.5 m3 of the low-density material, which was easily handled by the shuttle drones of 20m radius x 1m average height. At this air density, with the wings deployed, and with negligible payload above their 103-tonne mass, the optimal cruising speed for these drones was 170.1 m/s, where the sum of induced and parasitic drag was ~87,000N. Their supercapacitors had been freshly charged up to 18.8 GJ prior to leaving the mothership, and so for level flight, the maximum distance that could be covered, before descending and using regenerative braking from the rotors to recharge, was 18.8 GJ / 87,000N = 216.1km.
At 170.1 m/s the time to cover one lane along the 20km full diameter of the target seeding area was 118 seconds. Each shuttle drone would cover ten 200m-wide lanes of up to 20km in length, going back and forth five times. Thus, the maximum distance required was 200km for those tasked with the central lanes. And adding a little extra for turnaround, the time taken was up to a little more than twenty minutes.
Yahweh's directed energy beam in his mothership deployed microwaves to heat a column of air as required to (i) neutralize the incoming wind, and (ii) bring about a flow of the particle cloud from east to west, to hold the shadow on the ground steady as the Earth rotated on its axis and the Sun apparently 'moved' across the sky.
With the Sun's apparent 'movement' in the sky, the edge of the shadow on the land would move at a speed determined by D = H . tan(θ), where D is the displacement in meters, H is the height of the cloud (25,000m) and θ is the angular apparent displacement of the Sun since the starting point at noon. Over 24 hours the Sun moves 360° or 2π radians, and so the tangential speed is 2π / (24 x 3,600) = ~7.27x10-5 radians/second. And so, each second the shadow's edge moves by 25,000 x 7.27x10-5 = ~1.82 m/s.
And so, the work needed to be done is determined by the sum of two vectors. The first requirement is the countering of the prevailing 5 m/s southwesterly wind, at just a little north of Jerusalem, and a little north of the 30°N 'horse' latitude. And so the countering vector has the amplitude of 5 m/s but the opposite direction from northeast to southwest, which is a bearing of 225° clockwise from north. The second vector is the 1.82 m/s east to west to track the Sun's apparent motion, which is a bearing of 270°. When these are summed, the resultant vector has amplitude of 6.417 m/s and a bearing of 236.57°, which is west of southwest.
Most of the work was done by the mothership's DE beam. Some of the shuttle drones that had seeded the shorter, outside lanes, with reasonable remaining supercapacitor storage, did some fine tuning before descending and regenerating energy. With the descent from 25km, and with no payload, these 103-tonne shuttle drones could recover 0.85 x 103,000 kg x 9.8 N/kg x 25,000m = up to 21.45 GJ from regenerative braking through the rotors, and so they could recover a full 18.8 GJ charge for their supercapacitors.
The DE beams needed to move a column of air with the same cross-sectional area of the cloud, π x (10,000m)2 = 3.14x108 m2, (imagine the cross-section edge as inclined to the vertical instead of horizontal, and aligned to the required bearing of 236.57°). The mass flow rate ṁ, the mass of air that must be accelerated per second, is ṁ = ρ * A * v where:
...ρ is the density of air at 25km altitude of 0.0358 kg/m3, A is the cross-sectional area of 3.14x108 m2, and v is the required velocity of 6.417 m/s.
And so, for the mass flow rate ṁ, we have 7.2x107 kg/s. Then for the kinetic energy per second we have ½ * ṁ * v2 = ½ * 7.2x107 kg x (6.417 m/s)2 = 1.48x109 W = 1.48 GW. This is the average power deployed by the mothership's directed energy beam, and so its total energy cost sustained over 3 hours is 1.48x109 x 3 x 3,600 = 1.6x1013 J = 16 TJ.
After three hours, as the Sun descends in the sky, the shadow from the fixed-altitude cloud starts to distort and the shadow's edges move faster. The tan law is linear for very small angles, and then increasingly deviates, so that tan (0.0727 radians) (at 1,000 seconds past noon) is 0.0728283, but tan (0.727 radians) (after ~2.8 hours) is 0.889529. At this point it becomes increasingly difficult and more power-intensive for the master drone to direct the cloud into the required position.
By late afternoon, some people would have noticed the real Sun starting to reappear low in the sky. But some of the 53-tonne drones were still using their hologram projectors to display the fake 'Sun' high in the sky, and there was an attitude that if people knew what was good for them, they would not question the legend that was being crafted, of the Sun standing still for almost a "day". Sadly, this phenomenon would still be exhibited thousands of years later, when media brainwashing taught people what politically correct opinions should be espoused, and the people were "gaslit" into thinking they should not believe the evidence that they could see with their own eyes.
Moonlight is about one-millionth the power of sunlight, and Yahweh used a hologram projector to generate an image of a 'Moon' over the Valley of Aijalon. Drones were employed for some blocking of the Moon when it descended, but for this they had to be at an altitude of 4 - 5 km, and could only cover a small portion of the camp. So Joshua would have seen the Moon appear to stay still, whereas some in the camp could have seen two moons at times, and the leaders would have dismissed them as delusional.
Then the kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave in Makkedah. And then it was reported to Joshua that the five kings had been found hidden in the cave at Makkedah. So Joshua gave orders to roll large stones on the mouth of the cave, and set men there to guard them. But the rest of the Israelites must pursue their enemies and strike their rearguard. They must not be allowed to go into their cities, for Yahweh had delivered them into their hand.
Then when Joshua and his forces had finished killing the remaining 20,000 of their foes as best they could in a terrible slaughter - the trouble with these Yahweh lackeys is that the entire remainder of humanity, 99.8% of the population, are their foes - those who managed to escape went into fortified cities. And all the Israelites returned safely to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah.
Joshua gave orders to open up the cave and bring him the five kings. So they did that, and brought Joshua the five kings: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon. And Joshua called for all the Israelites and ordered the captains of the men of war to come and put their feet on the neck of these kings. So they obeyed, and Joshua told them not to fear or be dismayed, but to be strong and of good courage, for Yahweh would do this to all of their enemies whom they fought against.
And then Joshua struck and killed the kings, and hanged their carcasses on five trees, and left them there until the evening. And as the Sun was going down - for this was the next day and Yahweh was no longer blocking the Sun or creating any projections of a fake 'Sun' or 'Moon', Joshua gave the command, and they took them down and threw the bodies into the cave they had hidden in, and laid large stones at the mouth to seal it off.
Never make the frequently fatal mistake of expecting any mercy, any compassion, any empathy, or any humanity from these so-called 'people' - they are totally devoid of it as a natural consequence of thousands of years' worshiping the very worst devil ever to visit Earth. Even more than three thousand years later, this would be demonstrated by their bombing and destruction of tents, hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, homes, fruit pickers, picnicking families on a beach, their deliberate slaughter of babies, children, women, aid workers, doctors, scientists, reporters, UN observers, their plot to mutilate and kill indiscriminately with exploding pagers, their targeting of ambulances, hotels, skyscrapers, a peaceful ship of a supposed 'ally', etc., their deliberate use of starvation as a method of genocide, their torture and raping to death of their prisoners, and even murder of an activist protesting against their bulldozing of their victims' homes, etc., their spitting on people of other religions which they tried to justify as one of their 'customs', their snipers who try to kill children as young as possible as a sort of 'sport'... The list goes on and on, and could form the content of an entire volume set of books.
On that day Joshua took Makkedah, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and destroyed them, its king, and all the people who were in it. Nobody was spared, and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho. Now Yahweh forgot to include explicitly into his narrative about how the king of Jericho had been hanged on a tree until evening, as Yahweh was too busy moaning of how Achan had disobeyed him by taking some of Jericho's treasure. But he did subsequently point out that the king of Ai, who was hanged on a tree, had got the same treatment as the king of Jericho.
Then Joshua and the Israelites moved on from Makkedah, to Libnah, and they fought against Libnah, and Yahweh delivered it as well, and its king, into the hand of Israel, who struck it with the edge of the sword, and all of the people in it. Nobody in Libnah was spared, and Joshua did to its king as he did to the other kings such as the king of Jericho.
And Joshua moved on from Libnah to Lachish, and he fought against it. Again, Yahweh delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, who took it on the second day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the people in it, just as he had done to Libnah.
Then Horam, king of Gezer, came to help Lachish, and Joshua struck him and his people, until none of them were left.
In these cases, Yahweh was employing his DE beam weapon to transmit low frequencies such as pulsed 7Hz theta waves and 2Hz delta waves to interfere with the brain waves of his servants' opponents. At this time the Israelites were like a tumor afflicting the Middle Eastern region; millennia into the future they would become the equivalent of a metastasized tumor, not only harming the entire world but serving as an existential threat to humanity.
And from Lachish, Joshua and the Israelites moved on to Eglon, and they took up position and fought against it. And they struck it with the edge of the sword and took it that day, and they totally destroyed everyone in it, as they had done to Lachish.
Then he went up from Eglon, taking all Israel with him to Hebron, and they fought against it, and they took it and struck it with the edge of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and all the people in it. Nobody was left remaining, as in everything he had done to Eglon, and the Israelites completely destroyed it and all the people in it. The Israelites had adopted Yahweh's doctrine, that destruction was somehow 'good', and creation of anything was an abomination.
And Joshua and the Yahwehites returned to Debir, and fought against it, and took it and its king, and all its cities, and they struck them with the edge of the sword, and destroyed all the people in it. Nobody was spared. As they had done to Hebron, so they did to Debir and its king, as they had done to Libnah and to her king.
So Joshua struck the whole region of the hill country, the Negev in the south, the lowlands and the slopes, and all their kings, leaving no survivors. He destroyed everything that breathed, just as his slave-driver, Yahweh Elohim of Israel, had commanded. Joshua conquered the area from Kadesh Barnea to Gaza, and the whole region of Goshen as far as Gibeon.
And because Yahweh Elohim of Israel fought for Israel, Joshua captured all these kings and their land in one campaign. Then Joshua returned with all Israel to the camp at Gilgal.
When Jabin, king of Hazor, heard about Joshua's genocidal handiwork, he sent word to Jobab, king of Madon; to the kings of Shimron and Achshaph; to the kings of the north in the mountains, in the hill country south of Chinnereth, in the valleys, and in Naphoth-dorb on the coast; to the Canaanites in the east and west; to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, and Jebusites in the mountains; and to the Hivites at the foot of Hermon in the land of Mizpah.
And they went out, with all their armies, numerous people, like the sand on the seashore in multitude, with horses and many chariots. And together they came and pitched camp at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.
Then Yahweh said to Joshua, "Do not fear them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver them, all of them slaughtered in the sight of Israel. You will hamstring their horses, and burn their chariots with fire."
So Joshua and all his forces came against their enemies suddenly by the waters of Merom, and attacked them. And Yahweh delivered them into the hand of Israel, who struck them and chased them to the Brook of Zidon Rabba and the Brook Misrephoth-maim, and eastward as far as the Valley of Mizpeh. They struck them down, until there were no survivors.
Joshua believed he did as Yahweh ordered, by having hamstrung their horses and burning their chariots with fire. Yahweh used his DE beam to target the chariots, horses and enemy fighters with enough energy to cause ignition and smoldering of wood, and heating the skin and superficial tissues of the horses and men to cause lameness and impaired fighting ability. The frequency used was 95 GHz in the mm wave range, which is strongly absorbed by water, and the overall power output of the beam was ~1TW (1012W), well within its capability. The beam would scan across the enemy battlefield over a few minutes, which each area targeted for a few seconds at a time. For example, if the beam is deployed for five minutes in total, the energy used is 300TJ.
And then Joshua turned back and captured Hazor, and struck its king with the sword, because Hazor was formerly the head of all these kingdoms. The Israelites slaughtered everyone in Hazor with the sword, until no one survived, and Joshua burned down Hazor itself.
Joshua captured all these kings and their cities, and struck them with the edge of the sword. He destroyed them, as Yahweh's servant Moses had commanded. Yet Israel did not burn any of the cities built on their mounds, except Hazor, which Joshua burned.
And all the plunder of these cities, and the livestock, the Israelites took as booty for themselves, but they spared nobody.
So Joshua took all that land: the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen, the western valleys, the Jordan plain, and the mountains of Israel and their valleys, from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baalgad in the Valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon. He captured all their kings and struck them down and killed them.
Joshua waged war against all these kings for a long period of time. No city made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites living in Gibeon; all others were taken in battle. For it was from Yahweh to harden their hearts, to engage Israel in battle, so that they would be destroyed, and would receive no mercy, being annihilated as Yahweh had commanded Moses.
Then Joshua proceeded to cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, Debir, and Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah and of Israel. Joshua destroyed them completely, along with their cities. No Anakim were left in the land of the Israelites; only in Gaza, Gath, and Ashdod did any survive.
So Joshua took the entire land, in keeping with all that Yahweh had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to the allotments to their tribes. Then the land rested from war.
Now there were two kings east of the Jordan whom Moses and the Israelites had struck down, and taken their land.
Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the bank of the River Arnon, along the middle of the valley, up to the Jabbok River (the border of the Ammonites), that is, half of Gilead, as well as the plain to the Sea of Chinneroth in the east, and to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea on the east), through to Beth Jeshimoth, and southward below the slopes of Pisgah.
And Og, king of Bashan, one of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei. He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salcah, all of Bashan up to the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon, king of Heshbon.
Moses, the stooge of Yahweh, and the Israelites had conquered them, and given their land as an inheritance to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
And there were 31 kings west of the Jordan whom Joshua and the Israelites conquered. The land ran from Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, which Joshua gave as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, according to their allotments. This included the hill country, the valleys, the plains, the slopes, the wilderness, and the Negev - the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites:
The king of Jericho;
the king of Ai, which is near Bethel;
the king of Jerusalem;
the king of Hebron;
the king of Jarmuth;
the king of Lachish;
the king of Eglon;
the king of Gezer;
the king of Debir;
the king of Geder;
the king of Hormah;
the king of Arad;
the king of Libnah;
the king of Adullam;
the king of Makkedah;
the king of Bethel;
the king of Tappuah;
the king of Hepher;
the king of Aphek;
the king of Lasharon or Sharon;
the king of Madon;
the king of Hazor;
the king of Shimron Meron;
the king of Achshaph;
the king of Taanach;
the king of Megiddo;
the king of Kedesh;
the king of Jokneam in Carmel;
the king of Dor in Naphath (extremity of) Dor;
the king of Goyim in Gilgal;
and the king of Tirzah.
Joshua was old and getting on in years, and Yahweh said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and a large portion of land still remains to be possessed. This is the land that still remains: all the boundaries of the Philistines, and all Geshuri, from Sihor, which is facing Egypt, up to the border of Ekron on the north (considered to be Canaanite territory), that of the five Philistine rulers of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron, as well as that of the Avites to the south, all the land of the Canaanites, from Mearah beside the Sidonians to Aphek, as far as the border of the Amorites; the land of the Gebalites; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baalgad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath.
"All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, all the Sidonians, I will drive out before the Israelites. Be sure to divide it by lot as an inheritance to Israel, as I have commanded you. Now therefore divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Manasseh."
Yahweh's death cult had already destroyed 31 kingdoms west of the Jordan, along with multitudes to the east such as the kingdoms of Og and Sihon, the Amalek, and plenty of the Egyptians. And yet Yahweh was not content with this; he demanded still more bloodshed.
3,400 years later, the devil's death cult would be exhibiting the same behavior, going into war after war, genocide after genocide, massacre after massacre, except because of their cowardly nature they would either dupe others into fighting and dying for them, or they would have some subservient satellite State send them all the necessary weapons and technology, enabling them to target their prey from afar by simply pressing a button with zero risk to themselves. If anyone complained, they would wheel out one of two standard responses: (i) We killed ~80 people because we needed to neutralize a "terrorist", and the others were "collateral damage". (ii) It was a mistake. (The latter had been used so many times already, such as when they attacked a peaceful surveillance ship in international waters clearly marked with the flag of their satellite State for well over an hour, that only the most retarded, uninformed or misinformed could possibly swallow it.)
The other half of Manasseh, along with the Reubenites and Gadites, had received the inheritance Moses had given them beyond the Jordan to the east, just as Yahweh's servant Moses had assigned to them. This was:
The area from Aroer on the bank of the Arnon Valley, along with the city at the center of the gorge, the whole plateau of Medeba as far as Dibon, and all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the border of the Ammonites; also Gilead and the territory of the Geshurites and Maacathites, all of Mount Hermon, and all Bashan as far as Salcah, all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who had reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei and had remained as a remnant of the Rephaim.
But the Israelites did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites.
Only the tribe of Levi did not receive an inheritance, since the sacrifices of Yahweh Elohim of Israel made by fire were deemed to be their inheritance. It's hardly surprising that a mentally ill Type II civilization extra-terrestrial, with an extraordinarily refined olfactory system, who had grown addicted to the smell of blood, would value a right to animal sacrifices by fire as somehow equivalent to land ownership.
This is what Moses had given to the clans of the tribe of Reuben:
The territory from Aroer on the bank of the Arnon Valley, along with the city in the middle of the gorge, to the whole plateau beyond Medeba, to Heshbon and all its cities on the plain, including Dibon, Bamoth Baal, Beth Baal Meon, Jahaza, Kedemoth, Mephaath, Kirjathaim, Sibmah, Zareth Shahar in the mountain of the valley, Beth Peor, the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth, and all the cities of the plain and all the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon until Moses killed him and the chiefs of Midian, Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the princes of Sihon who lived in the land.
The Israelites also killed the diviner and Yahweh lackey Balaam, son of Beor, along with the others they slaughtered. And the border of the Reubenites was the bank of the Jordan.
And this is what Moses had given to the sons of Gad:
The territory of Jazer, all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites as far as Aroer, near Rabbah; the territory from Heshbon to Ramath Mizpeh, and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir; and in the valley, Beth Aram, Beth Nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, with the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon, the territory on the east side of the Jordan up to the edge of the Sea of Chinnereth.
And this is what Moses had given to the half-tribe of the sons of Manasseeh:
The territory from Mahanaim through all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, including all the towns of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities; half of Gilead; and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the royal cities of Og in Bashan.
Then the sons of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb, son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, said to him, "You know what Yahweh said to Moses, the man of Elohim, at Kadesh-barnea about you and me. I was forty years old when Moses, the servant of Yahweh, sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land. And I brought back to him an honest report.
"Although my brothers, who went with me, made the hearts of the people melt with fear, I remained loyal to Yahweh my Elohim. On that day Moses swore an oath to me, saying, 'Surely the land on which you have set foot will be an inheritance to you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed Yahweh my Elohim.'
"Now behold, as Yahweh promised, he has kept me alive these forty-five years since he spoke this word to Moses, while Israel wandered in the wilderness. And now, here I am today, eighty-five years old, still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. As my strength was then, so it is now for war, for going out, and for coming in.
"Now therefore, give me this mountain that Yahweh promised me on that day. For you yourself heard then that the Anakim were there, with great and fortified cities. Perhaps with Yahweh's help I will be able to drive them out, as Yahweh has spoken."
And Joshua blessed him, and he gave Caleb Hebron for an inheritance. And so Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb, son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, for wholly following the devil. And the name of Hebron was previously Kirjath Arba, a mighty man among the Anakim.
Then there was a time of comparative peace, during which the synagogue of Satan dished out their ill-gotten, blood-soaked gains.
The sons of Joseph were squabbling and complaining that they had not been given a large enough inheritance of land. Joshua told them to clear a place for themselves in the forest, in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, if the hill country of Ephraim was not enough for them. The sons of Joseph replied that indeed, the hill country would not be enough for them, but the Canaanites who lived in the valley had chariots of iron. Joshua told them that the mountain could be theirs too, for it was a forest and they could clear it, and even though the Canaanites had iron chariots and were strong, they could drive them out.
The assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh, and set up the Tent of the Assembly.
There were still seven tribes who had not taken up their inheritance. And Joshua asked them how long would they put off entering and taking possession of the land that Yahweh had given them. He told them to pick out three men per tribe, and they were to go up and down the land and write a description in keeping with their inheritance, and then they should return to him and divide it into seven parts.
And they did this and mapped it out by cities in seven parts in a book, and returned to Joshua, who threw lots for them at Shiloh, and he divided the land for them in keeping with their portions. These were the inheritances for the tribes of Benjamin, Simeon, Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Nathtali, and Dan.After this the Israelites gave an inheritance among them to Joshua, son of Nun. He received the city he asked for, Timmath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim, and he rebuilt the city and lived in it.
Yahweh, uncharacteristically, had been taking a rest from his evil acts. And then he spoke to Joshua, ordering him to speak to the Israelites about appointing cities of refuge, which a murderer could flee to and have refuge from an avenger of blood, if the murderer claimed to have killed unintentionally. Aiding and abetting murderers is certainly to be expected from a devil.The cities designated as cities of refuge were Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kirjath Arba, which was Hebron, in the hill country of Judah. And on the other side of the Jordan, east of Jericho, they designated Bezer on the wilderness plateau from the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan from the tribe of Manasseh.
Then the Israelites handed the Levites a total of 48 cities out of their inheritance. The Kohathite clans were assigned the first lot. Those who were descendants of the luckless Aaron the priest, had 13 cities from the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin. And the rest of the Kohathites were given 10 cities from the tribes of Ephraim, Dan and the half tribe of Manasseh.
The Gershonites were given 13 cities, from the tribes of Issachar, Asher and Naphtali, and also from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
And the sons of Merari received 12 cities from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.
There was some more division of spoils among thieves, and after a long time had passed Joshua grew old, struck with age.
Joshua delivered a speech to the Israelites, saying that he was now old, but Yahweh had fought for them and would continue to drive away their enemies. Joshua told them that they should keep and carry out everything written in the book of the law of Moses, not turning away to follow false gods, since this would mean that Yahweh would no longer drive away their foes, who would become for them a snare and a trap until they perished from the land that Yahweh had given them.
Making a pact with the devil leaves his servants in an unenviable position; they are universally despised, and must continually do as commanded, such as mutilating their baby boys, lest they are left to the mercy of those whom they had terribly wronged.
Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and he called for all the elders of Israel, the heads, the judges and the officers. Joshua went on to relate what he said was Yahweh's account of everything from the last 700 years or so.
This included how their fathers used to live on the other side of the river, how the likes of Terah, the father of Abraham and Nachor, had served other gods, how Yahweh had led Abraham through the land of Canaan and given him Isaac, how Isaac had been given Jacob and Esau, how Yahweh gave Esau Mount Seir but Jacob and his sons went down into Egypt.
The story included how Moses and Aaron were in Egypt, but Yahweh plagued Egypt and brought them out, culminating in his parting of the Red Sea. Then they lived in the wilderness, and eventually went over the Jordan, into Jericho, and the enemies were delivered into their hands, so that the Israelites took possession of a land that they did not labor for, and dwelt in cities that they did not build, and ate from vineyards and olive groves that they did not plant.
And this would be how these parasites behaved more than three thousand years later, occupying other people's lands, benefiting from the fruits of others' labor, and even destroying the olive groves of the natives whose lands they coveted, in order to ruin their opponents' livelihoods.
Joshua said that, because of all that they had 'gained', they should therefore revere and serve Yahweh. And if not, they should choose whatever other gods they wished to serve, but he, Joshua, and his house, would serve Yahweh.
The people replied that they would not forsake Yahweh to serve other gods, because he had brought them out of bondage in the land of Egypt, he had performed mighty signs, he had sustained them on their journey, and he had driven out the people before them such as the Amorites. Yes, they would serve Yahweh.
After Joshua warned them that Yahweh was a jealous, set apart El, who would not forgive their sins and transgressions, and would bring calamity on them if they forsook him and turned to false gods, the people reaffirmed that they would serve Yahweh.
Then Joshua said that they were witnesses amongst themselves, that they had chosen Yahweh, to serve him. And they confirmed that yes, they were witnesses.
That day Joshua made a treaty with the people, and he laid down a statute and a decree in Shechem. He wrote these words in the book of the law of Elohim, and took a large stone and set it up there under the oak by the Sanctuary of Yahweh. And he said that the stone would be a witness to them, in case they dealt falsely with their Elohim.
After some time Joshua, son of Nun, died, 110 years old. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance, at Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim, north of Mount Gaash.
And the bones of Joseph, that the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in a plot that Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor, the father of Shechem, for 100 pieces of silver. And it became an inheritance of the sons of Joseph.
And Eleazar, the son of Aaron, died, and they buried him at Gibeah, on a hill that was given to his son Phinehas, in the hill country of Ephraim.
